A new study into the mental health of naval personnel at sea has found their mental health to be worse than that of land-based troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
This includes symptoms of trauma, highlighting the issue of trauma at sea and the importance of ensuring support for sea-based personnel from both military and private organisations.
Two of the authors of the study are March on Stress Director Professor Neil Greenberg and Clinical Associate Dean Whybrow.
