Focusing on workplace mental health

March on Stress Director, Professor Neil Greenberg, was one of the expert speakers at a conference in London this week which focused on workplace mental health.

‘This Can Happen’ brought together experts from a range of organisations to discuss this important topic, with His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge also in attendance.

Professor Greenberg spoke about the evidence for workplace peer support. He said: “Evidence shows that peers support works. Systems such as Sustaining Resilience at Work (StRaW®) provide a process which can be used by non-professionals within the workplace to detect stress and mental health-related difficulties so that they can be effectively dealt with.

“Events such as this conference are a great opportunity to bring additional focus to the importance of workplace mental health, helping to continue the conversations about mental health problems, their impact and what organisations can do to support their people.”
