Enhanced Coping Skills (ECS) is a workshop developed by March on Stress academic experts and clinicians, that gives individuals some tried and tested tools to help them cope when challenging situations arise.
While many of our services at March on Stress focus on training people to support others, the ECS workshop is very much focussed on ‘self’ – it is designed for organisations that, as part of a wider mental health support strategy, want to equip their people with tools to use to help them manage stress.
Why does my organisation need this?
Many of us are exposed to extreme pressure from time to time which can be short-term (acute) or persistent (chronic). While most people deal with such pressure well, it has the potential to get to us and negatively affect our mental health.
Organisations have a responsibility to protect the mental wellbeing of their personnel; one way they can do this is to provide workers with training to develop, and enhance, their skills in stress management.
Indeed, the provision of stress management training is one of the recommendations of the World Health Organisation’s Mental Health at Work Guidance which was published in September 2022.

What will I learn?
Enhanced Coping Skills (ECS) training provides you with different forms of stress management which should help bolster your resilience, allowing you to cope better when faced with challenging situations.
All approaches have a strong track record for managing distress, anxiety and other difficult thoughts and emotions. They are suitable for use when facing any form of adversity. As with all skills they get easier the more you practise and use them. Delegates on the ECS training course will be advised that simply attending the workshop and reading the comprehensive guide that accompanies it is insufficient: practise and making use of the techniques is essential.
Who is this training aimed at?
This training is for everyone, it is not just for managers or supervisors.
How is the training delivered?
The Enhanced Coping Skills workshop is generally delivered remotely, via live training software (Teams or Zoom) over 2 hours, for up to 10 delegates at a time.
How do I book?
